Claws Of Power How to Beat Level 30
A mid-campaign wall on a 93-stage map — solved with Garlic Sprouts’ lane rules, not a fake 4-2-1-1 deck.
Players search “how to beat level 30” in every staged strategy game. Claws Of Power has 93 standard levels, so stage 30 sits about a third of the way through the campaign, after Chapters 1–2 (rearranged in the March 17 trial notes) and before the later swamp / desert / snowfield / city moods. Steam never published a unique boss name for stage 30. This page therefore teaches the systems that fail around that point, not a scripted enemy that we would have to invent.
Why stage 30 feels like a wall
By then the enemy has real tools: knockback, stuns, piercing shots, maybe a teleport. Your Chapter 1 trickle (one Jack whenever you can afford him) no longer deletes a wave. The developer already described this failure mode: two enemy cats beat two of yours and walk away alive because you spent fish too early and fought too far from home.
Fix the habits before you rebuild the roster.
- Hold cost. Save until you can send a tank + damage + disrupt together.
- Pull the fight home. Reinforcements arrive faster near your base. A stage 30 loss that happens on the enemy half of the lane is usually a positioning loss, not a “need legendary cat” loss.
- Stop panic 1-costs. Bacon Jack is still good. Six Jacks sent one by one are not a wave.
A stage-30-shaped lineup (named cats only)
- Front: Blue Fatty or Big Ju. Fatty ignores most knockback. Big Ju heals by eating his fish when low — better if the stage is a long grind.
- Shove: Xiao Fu. Always-on knockback, wider melee range. The developer said he wins early 1v1s versus 4-cost Fatty; at stage 30 he is how you stop a heavy from walking into A Qiang.
- Back: A Qiang or Solo. Solo’s piercing arrows with falloff are the mid-campaign upgrade when enemies clump. A Qiang still dies to one swipe — keep a body in front.
- Answer slot: Wu Ji (short stun) or White (damage-reduction aura for melee). If the stage stuns you, White’s aura is the March 17 tool for melee teams.
- Greedy slot: Masashi if you can protect the teleport, or Chi Wulang if you can live until the 200% opening slash.
Swap, do not stack. Five damage cats with no body is how stage 30 ends in ten seconds.
Items that actually help here
From How to Use Items:
- Garrison / Hold Position Whistle — freeze wounded survivors so the next wave lands on them. Best item if you keep almost-winning.
- Charge Horn — only after the enemy ranged line is something you want to touch. Do not horn into a stun.
- Clockwork Mouse — drag their formation off your base if they have already arrived.
- Jack Fusion — if you have been storing Jacks, this is the moment to cash them into Jack Hero. The August 23 patch buffed the upgraded device’s HP and Attack.
- Meow Mine — boss-assist button from March 17. Use it when you understand the wave, not on the loading screen.
If you have failed the stage several times, mercenaries (gold hires after repeated challenge failures) are an official safety net. Spend the gold; the March 17 notes exist so you are not soft-locked.
Equipment to check before the retry
- Extra slots on Xiaofu and Big Orange (August 23) if they are in the lineup.
- Clone Shovel if you already passed Stage 7 — clones help a long 30 more than a burst 10.
- Do not waste the retry putting Midas Touch on a cat that dies instantly; gold doubling is for Hard Mode after the campaign.
Use the map Equipment shortcut from the launch-week update so you are not bouncing through menus between attempts.
If it still will not die
- Confirm you are not on an old build. Language-setting “units would not attack” was a real August 23 bug.
- Secret-adjacent stages can inherit wrong speed; August 27 fixed 3× speed leaking into secrets.
- Watch a real fight: the Campaign Walkthrough embeds a full no-commentary run. Scrub to the middle third rather than inventing a stage-30 boss table.
Then continue the 93. Stage 30 is not the end of the game and not a hidden-stage gate. Hidden companions are a map hunt, described in How to Unlock Hidden Stages.
Frequently Asked Questions
Fast answers to the questions players ask most.
Is there an official stage-30 boss name?
No Steam post names a unique stage-30 boss. Mini-bosses named before launch are Duancang, Degumiao, and Father.
Should I restart my save if I fail stage 30?
No. Hold cost, fight near your base, and use mercenaries if the challenge has failed several times. Steam Cloud keeps the save.
Does a 4-2-1-1 deck beat stage 30?
That ratio is not from the developer. Use a tank, a knockback cat, a ranged cat, and one answer skill, then spend fish in waves.
Is stage 30 required for hidden cats?
Not in any official post. Cook is tied to a Chapter 1 secret. Jimmy and Spring Roll are map-wide mini-game hunts.
